Salix viminalis × Salix miyabeana ‘Preble’

Preble Hybrid Willow (PATENTED)

This hybrid selection between these species was released by Syracuse SUNY and patented in 2014. It has exceptional resitance to pests and diseases, also being very vigorous like its parents. Will grow 20-25ft, with a 3-5ft crown. This selection is a sterile triploid so can't produce seed. Green lance-shaped leaves are typically 5-6 inches long, by 1 inches wide, with foliage April through

November in Zone 5. Probably hardy to Zone 3 as both of its parents are hardy in this USDA Hardiness zone.

Uses: great where pests are a problem and a great upright growing ornamental plant.
